The University of Pisa is granting to Alan Curtis Kay a Honoris Causa Degree in Informatica for his contributions to the development of the personal computer and of object oriented programming.

Alan Kay will be interviewed and respond to questions from the audience on subjects as:
  • the computer revolution yet to come
  • viewpoints on education and education through viewpoints
  • the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative
A prototype of the OLPC $ 100 personal computer will be shown, in one of its first appearances in Europe.
