Identifying Objects

Purpose: To start thinking about identifying objects.

Exercise: Prepare a list of the kinds of object you would expect one or two of the following systems to handle:

  1. A computer program for laying out a newspaper
  2. A computer program for playing cards
  3. A flight reservation system

Good candidates for objects are: Remember that the purpose of the exercise is to start thinking in terms of objects, not to find the "optimal solution" to each of these problems.

You will obtain more benefit from these exercises if you work in groups.

Spend 20 to 40 minutes.
